Sya Warfield
Sya Warfield is an interdisciplinary artist and the creator of Upward Together. Based in Los Angeles with roots in upstate New York, her pupose blends mindfulness, sound frequency, and mixed media art to inspire transformation, confidence, and calm. Her artistic journey began while painting a mural as a youth, evolving through photography, cinematography, and street art into a mission for community-driven mixed media creations. With a BA in Sociology and Photography, Sya integrates over a decade of energy healing and meditation into her practice.
Jasser Membreno
Jasser Membreno is a Latino artist, born and raised in Los Angeles, with an incredible facility for drawing and painting. His work is figurative and fantastical; the landscapes, buildings, and objects he creates live simultaneously in the past, present, and future of a world full of decay, mystery, and invention. Since graduating from the Character Animation program at Calarts in 2008, he has continued to create works of art that appear in galleries, film, tv/animation, book publishing, and sculpture work. Along with having illustrated two children's books, Jasser published his first illustrated, bilingual book Pensamientos/Thoughts. He also co-founded a company called CineNovel which bridged the art, literature, and entertainment worlds. Currently, Jasser is developing an animated series based on his character designs and focusing on his passion for the arts. He plans to showcase his new paintings in the spring of 2024.
Karim Suquem
Karim Shuquem creates installations, sculptures, and prints that have relationship with staging, temporality, and process. He earned a BFA in Fine Art and a BA in Graphic Design and a MFA degree from Otis College, graduating in 2018. He has been teaching workshops on activist printmaking and giving online drawing lessons to students nationwide, while maintaining his studio practice. Karim has had solo exhibitions at LAST Projects Gallery (Los Angeles) and SOIL Gallery (Seattle) and has shown work at QIPO Art Fair (CDMX) and Nomad Art Fair (L.A.) He has performed at Highways Performance Space, Great American Music Hall, and Drop Dead Fest (Lithuania). Karim teaches Art in Southern California at Chaffey Community College and other locations.
Arella Tomlinson
Arella Tomlinson is a dedicated art therapist passionate about the healing power of creative expression. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Studio Art from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with Clinical Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University.
With over four years of experience, Arella has facilitated expressive and therapeutic art-making classes, workshops, and individual sessions for adults, teens, children, and groups in Pasadena and online. For two years, she worked full-time as an art therapist and talk therapist clinician at community mental health agencies in Los Angeles County, supporting children and families through creative and therapeutic interventions.
Malachi Wright
Malachi, aka The Wright Artist, rises from Dixmoor, IL near Chicago, embracing art in a community that undervalues it. Inspired by his creative family, he started his artistic journey early, creating with his brother Amoz. By fifth grade, he ran his art business, gaining global clients by middle school, even having one of his works chosen by Young Thug for the cover of a single. High school marked a turning point; he opened an online art store and appeared on Steve Harvey's show, catching Snoop Dogg's attention for an album cover. He established his LLC in 2019 and then graduating UCLA in 2024 after high school. Malachi continues to work diligently in college, selling art to stars, collaborating with brands, and serving the community through his gift. Guided by faith and passion, he remains a motivated artist with a limitless future of growth and success.
Jenni Williams
Jenni is an artist and educator, born and raised in the Mojave Desert. She is a painter, sketcher, and loves creative experimentation. She has taught art classes to kids and adults, and occasionally leads workshops with local conservation groups. She is deeply inspired by psychology, music, nature and sublime moments. ""
Oshri Hakak
Oshri is a Los Angeles-based artist and musician. He is a children’s author and illustrator, creating books that touch on mental health, mindfulness, inter-being, and consciousness for ages 2-202. Oshri loves to generate creativity that aids people and communities in our individual and collective healing journeys. He studied psychology and management at Duke University, and is also certified in meditation and dialogue facilitation, as well as yoga instruction.
Uniit Carruyo
Uniit Carruyo (she/her) is an artist, author, and educator with 30+ years of experience with children 0-6. She is a Montessori teacher trainer and has taught Montessorians nationally and internationally. Ms. Carruyo's publications include the award-winning Team Teaching in Early Childhood Settings: Leadership Tools for Reflective Practice (Red Leaf Press, 2017), Montessori Life, The Infant Toddler Journal, Ithaca Child, and Clarice, her self-published children's book. She founded and directs FLAMiNG iMAGiNATiON, a unique professional development approach for educators and caregivers. Ms. Carruyo holds an MS Ed in Leadership from Bank Street College of Education, a BS in Psychology from SUNY Fredonia, and an AMS 0-3 credential from CMTE. She is an Infant Toddler representative on the Teacher Education Action Commission and an Instructor for Instructor Academy at the American Montessori Society. You can usually find her making art in her treehouse art studio in the FLX, tending to her honeybees, or in her permaculture food forest.
Robert Borashan
Originally coming from a small town, he explored sculpture at a young age as a way to express his creativity. Years later were spent at the Academy Of Art in San Francisco, studying fine art sculpture, eventually getting sculpture work in Los Angeles where he relocated. He has continued working in art via gallery shows, commissions and many other forms, as well as art education. He is inspired by mentoring others in the possibilities of how creative ventures can change and benefit their lives.
Brigitte Nicole Grice
Born 1987 in Los Angeles, CA, Brigitte Nicole Grice is an artist, filmmaker, poet and scholar on Surrealism. She received a B.S. in Journalism and Art History from Boston University, an M.A. in Aesthetics and Politics at CalArts and recently submitted her doctorate at the University of Essex entitled International Surrealism and the Contemporary Epoch: A Surrealist Document with Questions, Principles and Memory Maps—a written thesis and ongoing documentary film project.
Brigitte Nicole Grice also acts as curator, organizer, and hostess for an expanded field of art under the alter ego Madame Anonyme and its corresponding gallery Chez Anonyme. She was a 2018 resident at Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris and part of Mountain School of Arts Class 2016; also in 2016 she studied with French philosopher Bernard Stiegler at the University of Kent, UK.
Grice had recent solo exhibitions with MOUNTAINS in Berlin, Germany ( May 2022) and Saint George Street in London, UK (July 2022). She is also the founding co-director of a new international artist residency and research centre based in the South of France dedicated to the ongoing dialogue of Surrealism scholarship and contemporary art set to open in 2025/2026.
